2025 Term 1 Timetable

BWDance has a strong focus on classical ballet which is the foundation for most styles of dance and is where most young dancers start their training. Ballet teaches students about musicality, control, alignment, placement, balance and grace. R.A.D stands for Royal Academy of Dance which has been the industry leading syllabus and examination association since its beginnings in 1920.  

Our Sugarplum ballet classes for boys and girls follow the R.A.D 'Dance to your own tune syllabus' and children learn creativity, confidence and expression as well as a true love for the art of ballet  through themed classes using props, dressups and musical instruments relating to the weekly theme.

Graded R.A.D classes are available for those students who wish to dance for fun as well as extension classes for those students who wish to participate in exams and further their ballet training.   As ballet is the basis of all dance all second and subsequent ballet, classes are half price with the exception of the pre-pointe class.

A modern and abstract, free-ranging style of dance similar to that performed by the Sydney Dance Company. It can vary from serious, 

to organic and to the over-the-top expressive. This style encourages flexibility, freedom of movement and adaptability.

Hip Hop has has grown from the 'street dance' concept and has shown a growing demand and popularity in the modern dance world. It can vary from smooth, relaxed movements to sharp and robotic 'popping'. The basics of breakdance is also offered as part of this class structure.

Jazz is a high energy style of dance most commonly seen performed on Broadway and used Commercially. Jazz encompasses a variety of amazing styles including traditional jazz, musical theatre, funk, cabaret and musical comedy.

Lyrical is a modern expressive form of dance utilising the basics of ballet, A beautiful free flowing style which allows more freedom for students to develop their expressive quality based on the lyrics and mood of the music.

Musical Theatre explores the story and emotional content of music by combining both dance and actng to create theatrical performances. The perfect class for students wishing to develop their acting skills with the opportunity to portray charachers through dance. 

Tap is a wonderful way to develop musicality, rhythm, coordination and the ability to hear the underlying beats of music. It allows dancers to create sound through using their body, giving them the satisfication of 'hearing' music created from their own dancing.
